Court Chaos Continued: The Unstoppable Antics of Isham Kayubi

The Dramatic Pre‑Trial Show

Just before his High Court showdown on Tuesday (Jan 14), Isham Kayubi, accused of raping two 14‑year‑old girls, decided to make the day a little… messier. He defecated on his own clothes and stubbornly refused to change; the judge even warned that he’d be adding a new layer of trouble to the courtroom.

Smoke, Feces, and a Glass Floor

Despite the caution, Isham escalated the drama by spreading bodily matter on a glass panel in the dock while a witness was on the stand. This wasn’t his first splash of silliness; last August he previously exposed himself and took a “bath” in the dock. After that incident, he was admitted to the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). A September report concluded he was malingering but mentally fit to plead.

The White‑On‑T‑shirt Dilemma

Early that morning, Isham heard an “Excuse me” from the judge, got escorted out by guards, strolled back with a tainted t‑shirt, and laughed in the face of conduct rules. Justice See Kee Oon then paused the session, covering the dock and hoping to keep the courtroom from smelling like a goat farm.

Judge’s Perspective

  • “If there’s no proof you’re beyond physical or mental control, this will be recorded,”
  • “Your antics—especially the deliberate stains—demonstrate sheer contempt.
  • Additional restraints will be considered to keep you from continuing this circus.”

Isham’s answers were more… incoherent than a broken record. And when a forensic officer showcase video, he licked the glass, leaving a sticky trail.

Charges That Go Beyond the Gagging

Beyond the court drama, Isham’s darker crimes linger in the shadow of the courtroom: he’s charged with sexual offences against two anonymous victims in separate incidents. Both were lured to his Jurong West flat, and he allegedly performed violent acts while recording them.

First Victim’s Tale

Isham first coerced a girl on Oct 15 2017 by offering $150 for cleaning duty, then forced her into sexual activities. She was under the impression that they didn’t know each other until a month earlier, thanks to an unintentionally forwarded text. The alleged threat was: “Call my gang if you refuse”. After the assault, she was given a helmet, Bluetooth earpiece, and $20.

Second Victim’s Intake

The second begins on Oct 29 2017, when Isham promised a phone upon renting his flat. He sealed it with threats of gang-rape or exposing the videos if she told anyone. She was shuttled home via his motorcycle with a neat $20 stipend.

Repeat Assault

Early on Nov 3 2017, Isham approached the second victim under a “conversation” pretext. He raped her again after taking her to his home. The mating between intimidation and violence sets a dark backdrop behind the courtroom’s out-of-control antics.

Case Status

The trial is still in motion. Judges and prosecutors are scrambling to manage a defendant who turns the courtroom into a clown show while carrying a serious criminal record.
