Singapore’s Covid Update: A Heartbreaking Loss and a Shifting Landscape
On Friday night the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that an 82‑year‑old Singaporean sadly succumbed to Covid‑19 complications. Though he was never vaccinated, his cardiac, renal, and hypertensive history made the virus a lethal match.
This makes him the 10th death in the country from Covid‑19 complications this month, bringing the total deaths to 47.
What’s Happening in the Community?

- Friday’s cases total:
- 40 new Covid‑19 detections.
- 36 were locally transmitted.
- 19 linked to previously quarantined cases.

- Two seniors aged over 70, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, are at risk of severe illness.
