Singapore Airlines Expands Quarantine‑Free Travel Options

On Friday, November 19, Singapore Airlines (SIA) hit the headlines with a promise of more passport‑friendly flights starting next year. If you’re in the mood for a no‑quarantine getaway, keep an eye on these new routes.

New Flight List (Starting January 17)

  • Barcelona
  • Copenhagen
  • Frankfurt

  • Milan
  • Munich
  • New York
  • Paris

Additional Routes (Starting January 19)

Earlier this year, SIA announced that flights from Kuala‑Lumpur would launch officially on November 29, bringing the total to 21 nations by December 6.

Government Updates

Transport Minister S. Iswaran told the press that travelers from Indonesia — and maybe India — can join the quarantine‑free regime from November 29. Further expansion is on the horizon, with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE offered entry starting December 6.

More Countries Coming In

  • Sweden (starting November 29)
  • Finland (starting November 29)

How the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) Works

Once you land in Singapore under the VTL scheme:

  • No stay‑home notice required.
  • You must carry a negative Covid test taken two days before departure to Singapore.
  • Upon arrival, you’ll get a PCR test. If you’re negative, you’re free to go about your day.

Since November 11, you can submit a negative result from either a PCR swab or a professional rapid antigen test. The arrival PCR test remains a must‑have for a smooth exit.
