China’s Latest COVID‑19 Update
Just when you thought the daily numbers were settling down, China’s health officials posted the latest figures for November 20th:
- 17 new confirmed cases – a drop from the 23 reported the day before.
- 4 locally transmitted cases – up a touch from 3 yesterday.
- 8 new asymptomatic cases – a quieter 16 from the previous 16.
- No new deaths – the death toll stands firm at 4,636.
- Total confirmed cases (to date) for mainland China: 98,467.
Around the clock, the news keeps coming in. While numbers are slipping, each day still feels like a reminder that the chaos of an outbreak can stay in the raw so long as we’re in the loop. It’s a relief that deaths haven’t ticked up, but we’re all keeping our eyes on the data.
