Alphabet Inc.’s YouTube said on Tuesday (Dec 14) that a hiccup that left thousands of users either unable to log on or dealing with laggy playback has been sorted.

According to Downdetector, who tracks real‑time outages by collecting user‑submitted tickets and other status feeds, around 15,000+ people flagged problems on YouTube during the surge.

In a tweet, YouTube assured its community: “If you were having a slower than normal experience or were having trouble accessing YouTube earlier today — this has been fixed! The issue ran for about 20 mins.”
