Reimagining a Family Home: A Stylish Makeover in Simei
When the Mahs decided to update their 10‑year‑old penthouse, they gave their beloved abode a fresh start without ever moving on.
Why Stay?
Instead of relocating, Mr. and Mrs. Mah teamed up with Kelvin Bing of Renaissance Planners & Designers to give their 2,700‑sq‑foot, five‑bedroom penthouse a complete interior makeover.
The Heart of the Home: Dining Room Revamp
Central to the renovation is a spatially chic dining area. The Mahs use it for more than just meals; every week they gather for Bible study sessions. Inspired, Kelvin created a versatile display screen that can showcase scripture verses or switch to regular TV whenever the mood demands.
- Custom screen integrated into a line of floor‑to‑ceiling mahogany cabinets.
- These cabinets, chosen to meet the family’s expanding storage needs, are stained in deep mahogany.
- Accentuated with a plush pink sofa and a marble dining table, the space exudes a modernist vibe: sleek, minimal, and undeniably luxurious.
Master Suite: Boutique Hotel Luxury
Upstairs, the suite was restructured to elevate its feel. The former cramped layout now boasts a roomy bathroom featuring a double vanity and a sunken bathtub surrounded by textured travertine tiles.
The bedroom itself is a soft, restful sanctuary, crowned by a jaguar‑patterned headboard in a warm Dijon yellow, bringing an inviting glow to the room.
Final Touches
For the Mah family, this remodel feels like a fresh chapter—one that blends innovative tech with heartfelt tradition, all wrapped up in style and comfort.
