Diablo Immortal: Players Now Get a New Class Every Week

Diablo Immortal Gets Weekly Class Swaps—No Paywalls

Blizzard’s latest patch for Diablo Immortal is a game‑changer that lets you switch classes for free every week. Yep—no subscriptions or micro‑transactions needed. That’s a sweet relief for players tired of the “buy everything” grind.

New Rewards & Fresh Content

  • Earn Legendary Crests by smashing the newly introduced Hero’s Journey and other limited‑time events.
  • Meet Helliquary Boss Gorgothra the Claimer on August 2—a new nightmare to conquer.
  • Grab 36 brand‑new Legendary Items that boost damage‑over‑time builds.

Why a Weekly Class Swap?

“In past Diablo titles, players would jump into a different class each season,” says game director Wyatt Cheng. “Because Diablo Immortal doesn’t reset on season starts, we wanted to give folks a chance to experiment without wiping their progress.”

At level 35, the class‑change feature is unlocked. Every seven days, you can hop onto a new hero. If you want to go back sooner, you have a one‑off “revert” option that bypasses the cooldown.

What Happens When You Switch?

First time switching:

  • Customize your appearance.
  • Refresh your Paragon Tree experience.
  • Receive placeholder gear that matches the rank of your previous equipment. Your old gear is stored safely in the inventory.

Reverting to your former class will restock the gear you had on that class. If you salvaged an item, the placeholder takes its place.

And don’t worry about the social side—Clan, Warband, and other affiliations stay intact. Class‑specific cosmetics will vanish until you return to that class, but you won’t lose anything essential.

What’s Next?

Lead game designer Joe Grubb spilled the beans: “We’re aiming for monthly updates. Expect new bosses, dungeons, zones, story arcs, and classes on a regular basis. We’re not just adding a handful of tweaks; we want to keep the game fresh for years.”
