Free Sentosa Admission Begins Oct 1—Now Wider Singapore Residents Benefit

Sentosa’s New “Wow‑You’s‑Free” Scheme

Starting Monday, October 1, certain community and school groups can hop onto Sentosa for cheaper—or even zero—money. This move is all about getting the local crowd to the island, and the Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) is rolling out the plans with gusto.

Who Gets the Free Pass?

  • Leaders from the People’s Association and Community Development Councils
  • Organised groups from pre‑schools, government schools, and government‑aided schools
  • Cyclists and users of personal mobility devices (PMDs)—you can bike or scooter your way through the island’s trails for free
  • Senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and holders of other TransitLink concession cards—they’ll see prices either cut in half or wiped out altogether

Note: These free‑entry days run only on weekdays (public holidays are excluded). And, if you’re riding a bike or PMD, remember to follow the Active Mobility Act rules that apply on Sentosa’s public paths.

What About the Regular Visitors?

If you’re not part of the special groups, you’ll still pay the standard entrance fee. But there’s a sweet spot: visiting via the boardwalk or flying on bus 123 currently gives you a complete waiver. Just remember to pay the usual distance‑based fare on that bus.

Why the New Rates?

“We’re constantly looking for ways to deepen our engagement with the local community,” says Chin Sak Hin, SDC’s assistant chief executive. “We believe these admission fee revisions will be positively received by Singaporeans.”

This initiative is a part of Singapore’s broader push toward a “car‑lite” future—think more cycling, less driving.

What’s Coming Next?

  • Next year will host a fresh lineup of free events, including Instagram‑worthy light‑ups.
  • Past highlights have included MegaFun and Sandsation, but there’s still more in the pipeline.
