New Year‑Theater Shuffle: Films Reschedule to January 25
The holiday buzz got a little shaken‑up when China’s film studios decided to pull big titles like Vanguard, Detective Chinatown 3, The Rescue and Jiang Zi Ya: Legend of Deification from theatres. The move was a quick‑response to the uptick in Wuhan coronavirus cases—confirmed cases surged to 830 and the death toll climbed from 18 to 25.
After the cancellations in China, the same four films were also withdrawn from Singapore theatres this weekend. Meanwhile, two Hong Kong releases—Enter the Fat Dragon and All’s Well End’s Well 2020—will still open on schedule.
