CPF Goes Digital: Nominations Now Online
Quick‑start guide:
- Log in with SingPass.
- Fill in the nominees’ details.
- Witnesses receive an email or SMS to confirm.
- BP Board finalizes and sends you a status update.
Why the switch?
The CPF Board rolled out this online system on 22 January to make the nomination process more convenient and secure. In the old paper‑based method, sensitive information—like who gets what and how much—could accidentally slip past witness eyes. Online, those details stay private, so you’re not risking a “spill” of financial secrets.
Fast facts
- Over 900 members already used the new service.
- Witnesses get a clear confirmation prompt via email or SMS.
- You’ll hear back within a week about the final status.
What if you skip it?
Without a nomination, the Public Trustee’s Office decides who gets your CPF savings based on legal heirs. That can involve extra fees and isn’t tailored to your personal wishes. Plus, CPF balances aren’t part of your estate—they’re shielded from creditors and meant to stay intact for those you care about.
Remember:
Your savings stay outside the will, protecting them from loan creditors while fully preserving them for your chosen beneficiaries.
