Bernard Lim Ties the Knot… Again!

Spice Up Your Weekend with a “Lunch‑Time” Wedding

Our favourite radio DJ, Bernard Lim (now 51), is heading back into the marital groove this Saturday, 27 July. After a divorce in 2007, he’s ready to pop the question to his new bride, Pim Suvarnakuta, a 37‑year‑old PR and marketing guru from Thailand.

And guess what? The duo is also preparing to adopt a little bundle of joy: Minnie, “Pim’s niece” (or as Bernard puts it, “the girl that sparked our commitment”). With her mother’s passing last November due to brain cancer, the couple is determined to become the adults Minnie needs.

In an interview with The Straits Times, Bernard said, “We both understand why Minnie matters to us. She’s our reason for saying ‘yes’ to forever. We want to raise her together.” A touching moment for a neon‑lit superstar.

Parent‑In‑Training?

Minnie’s 16‑month‑old father appears to be on board with the plan, lending his thumbs‑up (or at least opening the door) to this family‑renovation endeavor.

How the Romance Sprouted

  • First sparks in 2009 at a Pattaya golf course where Pim was hustling.
  • Bernard had pulled out of Mediacorp and joined LifeBrandz, known for taking on things like Cafe Del Mar and the now‑defunct Ministry of Sound.
  • While he had a stint in Cambodia (2017‑18), they flew to each other often—standing partners and a bit of a love‑flight.

Little Children, Big Talk

Bernard said, “We’re not the young ones anymore. If it’s just Minnie, then we’ll make it work.” In other words, they’re ready to fold the whole family package, without any drama drama.

From DJ to VIP: The Royal Path of Bernard Lim

Bernard’s first fame came on Perfect 10 (now 987), where he became the voice of the nation. He also gallantly hosted Wheel Of Fortune, proving that playing games was his second‑nature. In 1996 he suspended his on‑air antics to move up the ladder and later became a vice‑president at Mediacorp.

In 2013, he returned like a phoenix as the managing director for TV at the same broadcaster, only to face a double surgery after a stroke a year later. He bounced back and joined Money FM 89.3 (technically part of Singapore Press Holdings, not Mediacorp), yet again getting the audience’s warmth back.

The Guest List: Radio Royalty!

Wedding guests are also iconic on the airwaves: Glenn Ong & Jean Danker (both djs) and Beatrice Chia‑Richmond & Mark Richmond. They’re sure to keep the beat going with the celebration.

After a seven‑year marriage to a Singaporean airline stewardess, Bernard is finally ready to write the next chapter. With the right mix of love, humor, and a dash of family responsibility, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Pim, Bernard, and little Minnie.
