Flamboyant Fire on North Bridge Road Forces Hospital Rush
Late Saturday night, a blaze erupted in a HDB block on North Bridge Road, leaving five residents scrambling to get medical help.
What Went Down
- Time: 10:15 pm – SCDF first spotted the sparks coming out of Block 8.
- Location: Seventh‑floor unit. The flames were fought off with a lethal wet‑jet.
- Evacuation: Around 120 people from the sixth to the tenth floors were whisked out by police.
Hospital Shuffle
- Singapore General Hospital (SGH): 4 patients received treatment.
- Tan Tock Seng Hospital: 1 patient was transferred there.
- Burn specialists: Anyone with severe burns or smoke inhalation will be headed straight to SGH’s Burn Centre.
- Stability check: If a patient’s condition is too dire, they’ll be sent to the nearest Ministry of Health‑designated hospital.
