Gmail Gets a Phone Call, Literally!
What’s the Scoop?
Google’s latest update lets you pick up a voice or audio call directly from the Gmail app. No more hopping between apps—just a quick tap and you’re on the line.
How to Use It
- Open Gmail on Android or iOS.
- Find a one‑to‑one chat.
- Tap the icon in the top right corner to ring the contact.
During a Call
When you’re talking, a banner pops up that shows the person’s name and how long you’ve been on the call.
Missed Calls — Never Lose a Signal
If you take a missed call, a red phone or video icon appears in the chat and roster, so you always know you missed something.
Who Gets This Feature?
Starting today, it’s rolled out to everyone: Google Workspace customers, G‑Suite Basic and Business users, and even personal Google accounts.
Wrap‑up
Google keeps sprinkling convenience into our daily routines. Call up from your inbox, talk over Gmail, and keep the conversation flowing—right in the app you already use.
