Halo TV: A Showrunner Shuffle.
Our beloved Halo live‑action series keeps breaking the fourth wall—this time with its production crew.
Showrunner exits, plot twists.
- Stephan Kane announced, “I’m out.” He’s the latest to walk away after Kyle Killen’s exit in 2019.
- The drama began back in 2014 when they first announced the show, and the chaos has never slowed down.
From game console to cable TV.
Halo was originally set as Xbox’s first scripted original. Episodes were slated to debut on Showtime, but in 2018 it became the sole home of the project.
Director Rupert Wyatt was meant to helm the series, but schedule conflicts sent him packing. Otto Bathurst stepped in without a hitch.
Corporate shuffle drama.
- The launching of Halo coincided with CBS and Viacom’s massive merger.
- They rebooted their streaming platform, giving it the Paramount+ name.
- Because of this, the show moved from Showtime to Paramount+ in February.
Stay tuned for the 2022 premiere.
Despite all the change‑up, the planned preorder dates stand: 2022 on Paramount+. Expect as many plot twists as the original video game’s saga led to.
Compiled with a single mission in mind: deliver a character‑driven action adventure, complete with a lush vision of the future. If the series finally rolls out, it’s one to snag—though you might wish it was already here.
