Remembering 3WO Muhammad Sadikin Hasban
The Singapore Armed Forces sent‑off for Third Warrant Officer (3WO) Muhammad Sadikin Hasban, age 33, was a heartfelt tribute to a man who left us too soon. Friends and family gathered on Wednesday at the SAF’s void deck in Choa Chu Kang to honor his bubbly spirit, love of the outdoors, and devotion to his comrades.
His Life in a Nutshell
- 3WO Sadikin was a 3-year veteran in Brunei, having extended his service by an extra year because he simply loved the job.
- Just two months before his scheduled return to Singapore, he was kept on a “helicopter evacuation” site.
- Tragically, a falling tree branch struck him on Tuesday, and despite helicopter and ambulance transport to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, he passed away at 11:50 am.
- His body was flown home aboard a military aircraft to his parents’ Housing Board flat at Choa Chu Kang, where he was laid to rest at Lim Chu Kang Muslim Cemetery.
What People Say About Him
Mr Kamilan Subari, Sadikin’s father‑in‑law, described him as a kind‑hearted, 13‑year SAF officer who took great care of his daughter and wife.
The still‑under‑conscious wife, Norsidah Kamilan, 29, spoke quietly, “I’m not ready to talk.”
- Friends called him a “very happy‑go‑lucky” soul who cherished family time.
- Sports fans remembered his school rugby and football teams at Fajar Secondary School.
- Former classmates, like Hairulnizam Mustafa and Khairul Osman, recalled his joyful, energetic presence and love for his men.
- During his last meet in Ramadan, he was described as “always smiling” and “on.”
- A cousin shared that he was a generous, self‑less man, always ready to help friends and family.
Final Moments
Over 200 relatives, friends and SAF colleagues filled the void deck, many in tears, as they honored his memory. His final resting place at Lim Chu Kang stands as a reminder of a life lived in service, laughter, and camaraderie.
