Turning 38… and What I Really Feel

I hit the 38‑year mark a couple of months ago, so my “mid‑30s” brag‑rights officially expired. Instead of getting a little sad, I realized something surprising: I’m actually pretty chill about it.

Every year the word age feels less like a dictator and more like a simple number on a calendar. It turns out, I’m the only one that’s getting younger—at least inside.

Having a growth mindset means I’m constantly learning and evolving. That’s the only thing that keeps me youthful, and it keeps my spirit a vibrant 10‑year‑old, no matter what the calendar says.

I also feel a pinch of awe that I’m almost 40. How did that time fly by without me even noticing? I’m amazed at how far I’ve come, not just physically but in everything else.

Gratitude and Joy

Birthdays have always been a big thing for my family, even when we didn’t have fancy presents. We did have epic beach parties: kite‑flying, football, sand‑castle wars, and good food.

Thank you to everyone who gave me the gift of time, effort, and unforgettable celebrations. The bubbly, the candles on those chocolate cakes, the hearty feasts—every detail matters, but what matters most was the people.

I love activities over material gifts. Tiny moments, shared memories, and good food made the fireworks of those parties truly meaningful.

Finding Joy in Simplicity

After the pandemic forced me to rethink what truly matters, I simplified my life. I discovered I don’t need new gadgets, a wakeboard, or a shiny bike to be happy.

At 38, my only wish is to keep this happiness alive. And maybe, just a pinch of adventure for good measure.
