Jeremy Miado fights to secure his family\’s future

Meet Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado: From Homeless Roots to ONE Championship Hero

Born in the humble province of Albay, Philippines, Jeremy was the third of four kids. Life’s early chapters were written in struggle; his parents split, leaving his mother with her apron and a dream of a better future for juggling all four kids. He could have watched his mother keep the lights on, but he decided to step in.

Early hustle – school, markets, and midnight training

While most teens might copy the textbook routine, Jeremy rolled up his sleeves and started his day before sunrise. He whirled through a job at the wet market, grabbing fresh veggies for the locals, and then heads straight to school. “I was a working student,” he says, “no sleep, just hustle.”

Finding a beacon: Manny Pacquiao

What gave Jeremy direction was none other than boxing legend Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. “He rose from hardship to global stardom,” he recalls. “That was my North Star,” Jeremy says. Inspired, he launched his own boxing journey chasing that same dream.

From boxing rings to Muay Thai mats, then straight to the cage

Jeremy’s amateur boxing days were solid, but then something shifted. “I discovered Muay Thai during college, and the full‑contact fury grabbed me,” he admits. “The cage was the next frontier.”

He began competing in small shows, realizing it was more than excitement – it was livelihood. The earnings weren’t blockbuster, but they were lifelines: they paid for his college tuition and lifted his family’s financial burden.

Degrees, dreams, and the ONE Championship destiny

Graduating with a Bachelor’s in Criminology, Jeremy looked at a future in law enforcement, but the cage called louder.
Now he’s on ONE Championship, broadcasting to a global audience of 1.7 billion viewers, and the money from fights means more than just a paycheck – it’s a lifeline for his family.

“Life in poverty here is harsh,” Jeremy reflects. “I don’t want anyone else to experience that grind. My fight keeps a brighter horizon coming.” Even though his parents split, he still keeps in touch with his father, “giving him medicine,” he says, “because family matters matter.

Upcoming showdown

Jeremy’s next test is on Saturday, 24 March, in Bangkok at ONE: IRON WILL. He’ll face former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke. “I’m going to win—because I’ll fight like I always have: with grit and heart.”

With a past built on determination and a future fueled by passion, “The Jaguar” takes the reins of his destiny, one striking punch at a time.
