Kuwait Bans Unvaccinated Citizens from Traveling Abroad – Asia News

Kuwait’s New Travel Rules: Get a Vaccine or Jump the Line!

Starting August 1, Kuwait has taken a sharp turn in its travel policy. It’s no longer enough to have a passport – you now need a COVID‑19 vaccination sticker on it to exit the country. The aim? Shorten the dreaded quarantine crawl that has held travelers back for months.

The Rules & Who’s Exempt

  • Vaccinated Citizens Only: Citizens who have been fully vaccinated are the only ones allowed to travel abroad.
  • Under 16: Children under 16 get a free pass; no vaccine needed.
  • Medical Exceptions: Those with a health‑ministry certificate proving they cannot be vaccinated are also exempt.
  • Future Moms: Pregnant women can travel if they can show a pregnancy‑proof certificate from authorities.

Arrivals Must Be Negative

Before a flight even takes off, every arriving traveler must present a negative COVID‑19 PCR test and be symptom‑free. If you meet those conditions, you’re good to go.

However, if you’re traveling from abroad, you’ll still need to stay home for seven days. The only way to break that log is by undergoing a PCR test in Kuwait that comes back negative.

The Back to Normal Moves

Earlier this week, Kuwait eased some restrictions, resuming work, café operations, gyms, and more. The only gathering types still off the table are large events such as conferences, weddings, and social celebrations.

So the takeaway? Get vaccinated, keep your test handy, and you’ll be free to roam without the quarantine dump. Cheers to smoother travels!
