Road Rage Spree in Tampines Turns Into a DIY Attack
Police are currently probing a bizarre altercation that unfolded on Saturday, 19 Oct, on Tampines Central 1. It all started when a lorry driver, whose licence plate was GBB6429Z, cut in front of a south‑bound car, forcing the driver—known to us as JK—to slam the emergency brake.
The Escalation
- At 8:34 am, JK rounded Tampines Concourse, only to find the lorry barreling ahead. He pulled over at Tampines Avenue 8 to check the situation.
- While inspecting, the lorry driver swaggered out, flouted with Hokkien vulgarities, and even sniped, “Drive into the wrong lane cannot ah?”
- JK replied, “Sure, but at least apologize,” then got back in his car.
It Got Screwy
The lorry driver then stalked over to the driver’s side of JK’s car, challenged him to a fight, and demanded a showdown.
JK, unfazed, ignored the provocation and waited for the green light. When the traffic light did its job, the lorry driver stormed back to his vehicle and—dramatically—took out a wooden plank roughly 1 meter in length. He swooped back, holding the plank, and challenged JK again. JK stayed put, making sure not to get drawn into a physical scuffle and drove on when the signal turned green.
Witnessing the Chaos
JK had his dashcam on, capturing the entire drama. The footage shows the lorry driver scooping up the wooden plank, walking up to JK, and then hauling it back to his lorry before storming away again.
Final Remarks
Later that afternoon, JK filed a police report. The police have confirmed that a formal complaint is lodged and are looking into the incident. This incident highlights why driving etiquette matters and why drivers should never weaponize everyday tools.
