Miniature Windsor Castle Debuts on Lego in Royal Wedding Tribute

Legoland’s Mini‑747: A Lego Wedding Like No Other

When the Prince & Princess were about to tie the knot on May 19th, the folks over at Legoland decided to pre‑empt the real thing with a mini‑masterpiece. They built a portable version of the Windsor castle wedding that’s so realistic you’d swear the bricks could be arranged on a real marble altar.

What went into this tiny triumph?

  • Eleven artisans ruled the LEGO world for 592 hours, snapping together an astonishing 60,000 pieces.
  • The entire procession is that same size picture it’s 60–brick‑tall – a lean, elegant Princess Meghan rocking a classic wedding dress and sheer veil.
  • Prince Harry is precisely wherever he should be: right by her side, gripping the little handle of the plastic carriage that’s actually a brick‑built horse‑drawn vehicle.
  • Picture 500 tiny Lego “spectators” pacing the Long Walk – because how else can a miniature kingdom feel crowded?
  • And no king or queen would feel complete without everyone else: The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William and Kate (plus their famously adorable kids George and Charlotte), not to mention Meghan’s own parents, all included as tiny leaders in their whole kingly queue.

Why are we all excited?

Legoland says this little marvel will be on permanent display at the park right next to the real Windsor castle – only three miles away. So if you’re visiting the park, you get to see a bride and groom that’s both mini‐ and real all at once.

Truth be told, that’s basically the only thing that could beat the official royal wedding’s grandeur (apart from actually watching the real event). And with almost 60,000 lego bricks assembled to replicate the procession, the whole show’s built to make history here in a delightfully small way.
