Meet Saemapetch Fairtex: Thailand’s New Muay Thai Marvel in ONE Championship
Ready for a punch‑packed debut? Saemapetch Fairtex is stepping onto the ONE stage, pulling all his experience into a single, decisive fight.
His First Beatdown: A Showdown with Deividas Danyla
- Event – ONE: BATTLE FOR THE HEAVENS, Saturday 7 July
- Venue – Guangzhou Tianhe Gymnasium, China
- Opponent – IMC Muay Thai World Champion, Deividas Danyla
Fairtex, who’s groomed by the world‑renowned Fairtex camp in Pattaya, is all set to face a familiar foe. “I’ve watched him plenty of times. He’s got strong hands, but I’ve got the edge in knowledge and strategy,” he says. “No reckless exchanges – just smart, clean knock‑outs.”
He’s hoping a win will pave the way for a ONE World Title and cement his place among the globe’s fiercest fighters.
A Stellar Record Built on Grind
Saemapetch is no stranger to glory. His accolades include:
- Tiger Cement Tournament Champion – Channel 7 Stadium
- Muay Thai Grand Prix Welterweight World Champion
- Record – 114‑16‑1
From Poverty to the Ring: A Tale of Tenacity
Born and raised in Chiang Mai, the top city of Northern Thailand, Saemapetch and his younger brother survived on bottle and plastic recycling. “We did what we could—little, but enough to keep the lights on,” he recalls.
Scores of kids in that region grow up with hard hats, not books. “I wasn’t great in school, but I was determined. The only thing that could lift us was fighting,” Saemapetch explains.
Why He Picked the Ring
At 11, he stepped into a temple festival bout. With guidance from coach Chuvalit, the young fighter found his rhythm, climbing the ranks and reaching the grand Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok just three years later.
A Soldier’s Pride
Beyond the ring, Saemapetch joined the Thai military, dreaming of becoming a soldier or a policeman. “It gave me stability and a platform to hone my skills. I even won the army’s amateur boxing championship in 2017 (63 kg),” he shares.
But money in the ring could lift his entire family out of poverty, and that incentive pushed him back to Muay Thai.
Now Flying the Flag for ONE Championship
Training at Fairtex Training Center, alongside new ONE Super Series recruits like legendary Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex, Saemapetch is fine‑tuning every jab, low kick, and elbow. He’s gunning for the ONE World Title and foresees his name towering among worldwide legends.
On the fight day, he’s not just aiming to survive; he’s ready to slam the sport into a new era—exemplifying the “art of eight limbs” with path-breaking courage and humor.
