Samsung's new Galaxy Buds2 feature active noise cancellation, two-way speakers, IPX2 water resistance, and more, Digital News

The Galaxy Buds2 are Samsung’s latest true wireless earbuds and they are packed with features.

These earbuds have curvaceous bodies that are fast becoming a signature look for Samsung’s earbuds. But it’s not just for looks because Samsung says these earbuds have been specially designed to be comfortable to wear. To ensure a perfect fit, the Galaxy Buds app has an earbud fit test feature.<img alt="" data-caption="The Galaxy Buds2 have an in-ear design.

Meet the Galaxy Buds2 – The Ear‑Buds That Actually Grit

Water‑proof vibes: With an IPX2 rating, these buds can pat their ears dry after a quick spray. As long as you keep them angled no more than 15° away from straight up, they’re ready for a shower or a sweaty workout.

Silence the Chaos with ANC

Like the new‑fangled true‑wireless crowd, the Galaxy Buds2 brag about Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Samsung claims they can slay background buzz up to a whopping 98%. That means you’ll hear your favorite track, not the neighbor’s lawn mower.

Stay in the Know with Three Ambient Levels

If you’re the type who wants to hear the world a bit while listening, there are three ambient sound modes that let you be gossip‑savvy without giving up your music.

Voice‑Clarity for Calls

Dialing in perfection: the Buds2 pack three microphones—one inside and two external beam‑forming mics. A fresh machine‑learning trick bleeds any stray noise out while boosting your voice. So when you call your boss, you’ll sound like a pro, not a blobby radio.

These earbuds support Bluetooth 5.2. And as for wireless codecs, there’s support for SBC, AAC, and a proprietary Samsung codec called Scalable.

Battery life is respectable. Samsung claims up to 5 hours on a single charge with active noise cancellation turned on and up to 20 hours with the charging case.

The Galaxy Buds2 also have an Auto Switch feature that allows users to quickly switch between compatible Samsung Galaxy devices including Galaxy phones, tablets, and the new Galaxy Watch4.
