The Free Antigen Test Kits Are Here
Good news for folks living near Geylang Bahru Market & Food Centre and 146 Teck Whye Avenue Market: starting Monday (26 July) and continuing through Tuesday, you can pick up a free rapid antigen test (ART) kit right on your doorstep.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is teaming up with the local People’s Association to hand these out to anyone who’s been in the vicinity of those markets within the last two weeks. Just swing by the Residents’ Committee Centres next to each market and you’re good to go.
Why You Should Grab One
- Keep yourself for peace of mind—test on your schedule.
- Help slow the spread—testing is the first line of defence.
- It’s 100% free, so no excuses.
MOH urged everyone eligible to “strongly encourage” themselves to use the kits. For details, visit the official site—you’ll find all the nitty‑gritty questions answered there.
Getting the Numbers Straight
Singapore logged 117 locally transmitted cases on Sunday, including 38 unlinked ones. There were also eight imported cases making the list. Among the community spread, two seniors over 70—free‑to‑foul—who weren’t fully vaccinated are now flagged as high‑risk.
Cluster Updates
- JURONG Fishery Port & Hong Lim Market: 46 new cases, tipping the total at 792.
- Case 65,893 and Case 65,846: each now holds 3 cases (adding two and one new case respectively).
- Samy’s Curry Restaurant and KTV cluster both grew—now 13 and 237 cases.
- Clusters tied to Bukit Merah View Market have closed after 28 days of no fresh bites.
All told, 25 clusters remain active, ranging from a handful (3) to many (792).
Weekly Pulse
Community cases shot up from 324 to 1,056 in the past week. Unlinked community cases also leapt from 24 to 136. The MOH warned that this trend might stick around as we ramp up detections to curb spread.
