Shed 95: Singapore’s latest Covid‑19 death count climbs amid fresh cases
On Thursday (Sept 30), Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) brought the grim tally to 95 deaths, adding two seniors who succumbed to Covid‑19 complications.
Who were the victims?
• 79‑year‑old female permanent resident
• 87‑year‑old female citizen
Neither had a shot for the virus, and both were battling underlying health issues—which, unfortunately, the ministry kept under wraps.
The 11th day of daily fatalities

- 4 imported cases (already isolated or under a stay‑home notice)
Older adults carried the bulk of these new cases: 535 seniors (over 60) were infected.
Clusters on the scene
A brand‑new cluster of 29 cases popped up at the MWS Christalite Methodist Home in Marsiling, mostly residents with one staff member. Meanwhile, six new clusters sprouted in dorms:

- Aspri‑Westlite Papan – 97 cases
- PPT Lodge 1B – 73 cases
- Cochrane Lodge 2 – 62 cases
- Jurong Penjuru Dormitory 1 – 48 cases

Hospitalised and in need of help

- 34 are in critical condition.

What’s next?
With every new cluster and daily death, the nation grapples to balance caution with the need to keep life moving. Let’s watch the numbers together and hope the upticks are short‑lived.
