Meet Singapore’s Rising Star, Si Yi Han
Picture this: a 15‑year‑old walks onto the runway in Singapore’s Digital Fashion Week, blasting the applause and turning heads. That’s Si Yi Han in 2015, and it wasn’t just a one‑off gig. While juggling assignments at Nanyang Girls’ High School and later Hwa Chong Institution, she was already rocking stages at Singapore Fashion Week 2017 and stepping out for Max Tan’s Fall/Winter collection 2015. From Classroom to Catwalk
At 18, Si is a freelancer with Basic Models, but she’s also the sole Singaporean contestant in this year’s Asia’s Next Top Model—season 6. The show bows on FOX Life (Singtel TV Ch 301 & StarHub TV Ch 501) on 22 August at 9 pm, with a real‑time stream on FOX+.
She’s the youngest in the lineup of 14 competitors, but she sees it as a clean slate. “Sure, some of the other girls have been modeling for years, so I was a bit intimidated,” she told The New Paper. “But being so young means I’m fresh, and that’s actually an advantage.” Especially since she’s literally taller than everyone else at 1.81m.
Architect’s Daughter Who Loves the Spotlight
Si came from a family that kept her on her toes. With an architect mother and an engineer dad who was more in the travel business than the home, she learned independence early. “I grew up without a dad at home a lot, so I had to mature quickly.” She kept close ties with her mom and navigated the emotional ups and downs of the show.
Next year, she’ll be studying architecture at the University of Sydney. But the runway experience has done more than just fill her portfolio—it’s given her confidence. “I used to be so awkward. I never imagined getting signed or walking in front of big crowds,” she admits.
Drama? Plenty. Compromise? Very little.
“It’s a given that drama will happen,” Si says, “but I try to steer clear of conflict. I’m the peace‑keeper of the group.” Still, with 14 contestants, tension is inevitable.
In short, Si Yi Han is a multifaceted talent: stage‑ready, academically driven, and unafraid to step into the spotlight. She’s not just a model—she’s a future architect channeling confidence through every stride.
