Even as the city‑state rolls out boosters and the new variants keep turning up, the latest round of fatalities has pushed Singapore’s total deaths from the pandemic to 280. Sixteen people between ages 61 and 93 slipped away, allegedly pulled down by the virus and a handful of pre‑existing conditions.

Who Were They?

  • 12 men, 4 women
  • 11 of the men were Singaporeans or PRs, one was a Malaysian work‑permit holder
  • All four women were Singaporeans
  • Vaccination status: 7 fully vaccinated, 8 unvaccinated, 1 partially vaccinated
  • Beside one exception, everyone had an underlying health issue – the Ministry didn’t want to share the exact diagnoses.

  • Hospitalised: 1,613 (including 346 on oxygen, 61 in ICU)

Vaccination Milestones

  • 84 % of the population fully vaccinated
  • 85 % received at least one dose
  • Booster recipients: 637,326 (98,000 have booked appointments)
