Why the Numbers Jumped on Sunday
- Singapore logged 49 new cases.
- Of these, 38 were local transmissions.

Where the Kits Are Going
- Currently, 236 of 900 Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs) have received kits.

Speedy Diagnosis, Faster Action
Anyone visiting a doctor with acute respiratory symptoms will now undergo a rapid antigen test— plus a PCR test to keep the accuracy level high.
The rapid tests produce results in a mere 20 minutes, so contact tracing can kick off before the next coffee break. PCR tests, on the other hand, take up to 48 hours because the swabs must travel to a lab.

While rapid tests dominate on-site detection, the ministry’s daily case figures will still be based on the PCR confirmed results.
