What's Cookin': Enjoy dark chocolate crackle treats for Hari Raya, Lifestyle News

What’s Cookin’ is our fun home-cooking tutorial series that provides step-by-step instructions and easy-to-cook recipes for popular local delights and trending dishes with an AsiaOne twist. And we promise that they are simple enough to make them in your own kitchen.

For today’s recipe, we make a crunchy chocolate treat that is perfect for the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.

We’ve got a Hari Raya treat that’s really easy to make but provides lots of crunchy satisfaction in your mouth. It’s a treat that will be enjoyed by both the young and old. After all, who doesn’t like chocolate?

Ingredients

Chocolate Coco Pops Delight

Ready to turn your breakfast routine into a bedtime snack? This sweet concoction mixes the rich bite of dark chocolate with the fizzy fun of Coco Pops, making a treat that’s as indulgent as it is quirky. Let’s break it down—no gimmicks, just pure deliciousness.

What You’ll Need

  • 100 g of dark chocolate (your favorite brand or whatever you’ve got on hand)
  • 600 g of Coco Pops (yes, the cereal that’s still popular with the kids—people love it!); or your cereal of choice

Crunchy, Sweet, & A Touch of Sweet

Step 1: Melt the chocolate in a heat‑proof bowl. If you’re an adult, a chocolate fondue ceremony is optional but certainly makes everyone feel fancy. If you’re in a hurry, just hit it in the microwave in short bursts and stir until silky.

Step 2: Toss the Coco Pops into the pan, stirring around until they’re bathed in chocolate. Don’t be shy—let the cereal get a good coating.

Step 3: Let everything chill in the fridge until the chocolate hardens like a superhero’s skin.

Serving Size: 12‑servings max—so you’ll have enough to share… or not.

Why It’s a Hit

Chocolate + cereal = a snack where the crunch says, “Hey, we’re back!” while the chocolate whispers, “Stay.” It’s a bold combination that’s perfect for a midnight craving or for when family meals need a sprinkle of adventure.

Enjoy—comfortingly crunchy, astonishingly chocolatey, and guaranteed to bring smiles compared to the usual bland breakfast options!

Steps

Use the double boiler method to melt your chocolate. Boil water in a saucepan and add a bowl that fits securely over the saucepan. Add your chocolate in and stir constantly to ensure that the chocolate melts evenly.
Add the Coco Pops to the melted chocolate and mix well for everything to be evenly coated.
Divide the mixture up into individual cupcake cups. Place all the cups in the fridge for 20 mins.

Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy. That’s all it takes for you to enjoy sweet, chocolate-covered morsels that you won’t be able to resist popping into your mouth.
