Xie Bin’s Confidence Grows, Predicts KO Victory at ONE’s Unstoppable Dreams

Xie Bin: The Chinese Fireball Sparking a Victory Streak in ONE Championship

Rising from the Ring to Academic Triumph

At just 20, Xie Bin—trained by the Tianjin Top Team—is on a quest for his third consecutive win. He’ll face newcomers Huang Shi Hao at ONE: UNSTOPPABLE DREAMS in Singapore on Friday, 18 May.

Three Wins, One Dominant Finish

The journey began with a unanimous decision over Mario Satya Wirawan, followed by a decisive submission in the second round against Chan Rothana. Xie’s first finish astonished critics and himself alike.

  • The finish was a D’Arce choke, Xie’s signature move, applied after rigorous training.
  • The victory silenced media doubts and turned the tide in his favor.

Growing Stronger with a New Coaching Squad

“The past year brought fresh coaches with solid MMA experience,” Xie explains. The return of Li Kai Wen and Ma Jia Wen from the United States added modern tactics and training methods. This evolution is reshaping Xie into a more balanced fighter—mentally and physically.

Balancing Books and Battles

While sharpening his skills in Tianshan, Xie is also studying for an associate’s degree in sports science at Hunan Sports Vocational School, slated to finish in June. He sees the two worlds complement each other:

“My training lets me apply school theories in real life, enhancing my understanding of the human body. I also teach others about nutrition and recovery—learning from trial and error is a big part of it.”

“Training, Study, Repeat”

With confidence soaring, Xie eyes Huang—a known ADCC Grapple Asia Silver medalist—ready to prove his all-round prowess.

  • Xie admits he’s seen only YouTube clips of Huang, identifying him as a pure BJJ practitioner.
  • He counters with advanced striking and the advantage of seasoned experience.
  • Past strategy: Xie’s team crafted a plan to neutralize Rothana’s style; the same precision will apply to Huang.

Opening Bell Treatment

His mission: go in on the first shot, snuff out takedown attempts, and chase a first career KO. “It’s all about aggression and capitalising on every moment,” Xie says, ready to light the cage on fire.
