'An angel was sent to me': Siti Khalijah on kind PHV driver who waited at remote cemetery to drive her out, Entertainment News

For Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) drivers, time is of the essence if they want to earn more.

But for one driver named Gani, he didn’t mind putting aside time to show a little kindness to one of his passengers.

Yesterday (May 19), local actress Siti Khalijah uploaded to Instagram Story her heartwarming experience with the man. The 36-year-old said she had booked a one-way ride to Pusara Abadi, a Muslim cemetery in Lim Chu Kang that’s in a remote area and not easily accessible. <img alt="" data-caption="Siti Khalijah recalling her experience with PHV driver Gani on her Instagram story.

Unexpected Good‑Will at the Graveyard

When the usual driver pulled a sick day, Siti Khalijah found herself without a ride to her dad’s resting place. “I was gonna just try my luck and get a Grab out from there somehow,” she laughed on her Story, showing the kind of tenacity that keeps you moving forward.

Meeting “Uncle” Gani

Inside Gani’s car, the friendly old man gave her a clear‑cut rundown: “Once you’re there, just take your time and handle whatever you need to do, okay? I’ll wait and then drive you home because it’s hard to find a car later.” The message was simple: no rush, no fuss.

A Care‑taker’s Kindness

When AsiaOne hit the phone, Siti shared that the whole trip went smoother than a fresh pot of tea. “There wasn’t any pressure to hurry, so I got to clean my dad’s grave, swap out the flowers, and knock off my prayers.” A quick half‑hour visit to a handful of nearby graves filled the day with purpose.

Throughout it all, Gani was the steady anchor—no extra requests from him. Siti felt it was a simple act of thoughtfulness, so she gave him a little extra at the end. “Thank you so much Uncle Gani. You are extremely kind-hearted,” she posted later.

Heart‑warming Kindness

She described it as feeling an angelal delivery: “I’ve been wanting to visit my dad’s grave for a couple of days but I can’t find transport and I can’t drive… so I just followed my gut. And then this happened, and it was really, really heartwarming. I’m very touched.”
