Anne Fletcher Eyes Another Hocus Pocus Sequel – Entertainment Buzz

Could the Hocus Pocus Horde Return?

It seems the possibility of a third season of the classic Halloween‑time witch movie Hocus Pocus still hangs in the air. Producer Lynn Harris keeps the door ajar, insisting that magic and witches always have a special place in fans’ hearts. “It’s a movie about magic and witches. Those things are timeless aren’t they? A multiverse of witches!” she says.

What’s in the Magic Cauldron

  • Open to a sequel? – The film’s producers aren’t shutting the door yet. They’re holding their breath, waiting on the three original stars.
  • Reassembling the “Witches‑of‑Three‑Sisters” trio – Winne, Mary and Sarah, played respectively by Midler, Najimy and Parker, might have the final say. Each of them has a deep love for their characters.
  • The script already has a good vibe – Harris says the girls were “amiable and excited” to review the script and provided insights that helped the writers tweak it. Their deep insight into the characters is priceless.

Harris recounted walking up to the three actresses and saying, Hey, guys, it’s time to get the band back together. Every one of them nodded, ready to relive their adventure.

Rekindling a 27‑Year‑Old Fraternity

Even after 27 years apart, the trio seemed to jump back into the role with almost no break‑in. The scene “was a farming field – literally magic – that felt like no one had been out of costume that long.”

Director Fletcher said this was, to put it mildly, a dream come true. Watching the stars interact again brought a new layer of chemistry to the script. “They didn’t just step back into their own roles; they reclaimed the whole family dynamic,” Fletcher explained. That dynamic—the playful sibling rivalry, the birth‑order quirks—fueled the film’s fun, and he hoped the same spark would ignite in the potential sequel.
