The courtroom saga
On October 13th, Steve‑the actor‑in‑action Edwin Goh appeared at the State Courts alone—no lawyer in tow, just his squinting stare and a trembling voice. The judge read out the charges, and Edwin’s head was down, hinting that he already knew he’d walked into a no‑no zone.
In his statement, he voiced:
“I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on this mishap and I understand how serious it is. I realise this could wreck my future and harm others,”

The case dates back to September 6th when Edwin had dinner at a Golden Mile restaurant and later grabbed a drink at a bar. He stumbled home early the next day, was cornered by police on Aljunied Road at 2:37 am, and the breathalyser told a grim story: 81 mcg of alcohol per 100 ml of breath—well over the 35 mcg legal limit.
After the arrest, the consequences were clear: SGD 6,500 fine and a three‑year driving suspension.
A public apology
Edwin’s agency, Mediacorp, stepped in with a heartfelt statement. “He deeply regrets his mistake, apologises sincerely, and vowed never to repeat it,” the spokesperson said. “We do not tolerate any law‑breaking behaviour from our artistes, who serve as role models for fans.”
Internally, Mediacorp is already planning how best to counsel Edwin and will “take appropriate action” that won’t be disclosed publicly.
What this means for the star
While he’s now barred from driving for three years, Edwin is still actively working on the upcoming Chinese drama Strike Gold. As of today, he’s kept this incident off his social feeds—no salutes or comment. He may have taken a breather after a recent breakup with a Ukrainian model, and he’s slid all his Instagram posts into the “cool, stylised” zone since September 1st.
