Wang Leehom Mixes Up COVID Rules – Fans and Authorities Take Notice

When Wang Leehom wrapped up his 14‑day quarantine in Taiwan, the 45‑year‑old Taiwanese‑American pop star thought the hustle was over. He posted a lively video on Thursday, letting everyone see how his crew greeted him at the hotel lobby. The same day, Vivian Hsu sparked social media chatter by sharing snapshot moments of a cozy dinner hosted for Wang, complete with fellow CelebColleague Cook‑up.

Who Joined the Celebration?

  • Christine Fan – back in the spotlight after a two‑year hiatus.
  • Blackie Chen – the charismatic TV host and Christine’s husband.
  • Eric Chen – the music producer mixing vibes for the group.

Fans immediately pointed out that under Taiwan’s health guidelines, Wang is still under a 7‑day self‑monitoring phase, which means he can’t hop into public spaces, must always wear a mask, and is barred from large social gatherings.

Wang’s Take‑away

On Friday, both Wang and Hsu expressed thanks to fans and media for serving as a gentle reminder. Wang pledged accountability, stating he’d completely follow the rules for the rest of the monitoring period. He apologized for the oversight, acknowledging its unintentional nature.

Subsequently, Hsu removed her post about the dinner, respecting the sensitivities of the situation.

Facing a Fine

According to Taipei’s Deputy Mayor Huang Shan‑shan, Wang is likely to be fined between NT$10,000 (≈S$485) and NT$300,000 (≈S$14,640) for breaching the COVID protocol.

In short, while the star’s celebratory vibes were undeniably fun, the public health rules stayed in place, and the constituents were quick to remind everyone that even when the rumble of the music stops, the rules of the game still hold.
